2026 Impact on Senate Races
Abortion access will be on the ballot again in 2026 in multiple forms. States considering abortion ballot initiatives in 2026 include Florida (needs another try after 2024 failed at 57%, needs 60%), Iowa, and potentially Missouri (where a 2024 measure passed but legal battles continue).
In Senate races, abortion is a top issue in New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota, Georgia, and Colorado. Democratic candidates in these states have highlighted Republican Senate opponents's opposition to federal abortion access legislation.
